Preserving the Harvest: A Two-Part Canning Workshop Series at Kaluna

Join us in the Kaluna Hearth for a hands-on introduction to the art and science of home canning. This two-part workshop series is designed to help participants build confidence with safe, seasonal food preservation while working with the abundance of the late-summer harvest.

Part II: Pressure Canning
Saturday, September 12th
1:00–5:00 p.m

In this workshop, we’ll build on those basics and focus on preserving low-acid foods using a pressure canner. We’ll walk through pressure canner safety, equipment, venting, processing, cooling, troubleshooting, and the important differences between water-bath and pressure-canning methods.

Each workshop will include hands-on instruction, time for questions, printed resources to take home, and a finished jar from the day’s work.

Full Series Registration
Because these workshops are designed to build on one another, registration will open first for participants who would like to attend the full two-part series.

Part II: Pressure Canning - $80 per person

Individual workshop tickets may be released later if space allows.

Space will be limited to keep the experience hands-on, welcoming, and supportive. Whether you’re brand new to canning or looking to refresh your skills, this series is an opportunity to practice safe home preservation, connect with the seasonal rhythms of the farm kitchen, and carry a little of the harvest forward.
